Tourist Visa Documents Checklist

Applicants should generally prepare the following documents:

• Valid passport (issued within the last 10 years and valid for at least 3 months beyond the intended departure from the Schengen Area, with at least two blank pages)
• Completed Schengen visa application form
• Recent passport-size photographs as per Schengen specifications
• Cover letter explaining the purpose of travel
• Detailed day-wise travel itinerary
• Confirmed round-trip flight reservations
• Confirmed hotel/accommodation bookings
• Travel medical insurance with minimum coverage of EUR 30,000, valid throughout the Schengen Area
• Proof of sufficient financial means (recent bank statements, salary slips/ITR where applicable)
• Employment proof, leave approval or business documents, if applicable
• Proof of civil status and any additional supporting documents as required
• Biometrics (fingerprints) unless exempt

The Embassy may request additional documents depending on the individual application.

Processing Time

• Standard Processing: Approximately 15 calendar days
• In certain cases, processing may be extended to 30–60 calendar days if additional verification or documentation is required.

Visa & VFS Fee

• Schengen Visa Fee (Adults): INR 10,000 (subject to exchange rate updates)
• Children (6–12 years): INR 5,000
• Children below 6 years: Visa fee exempt (where applicable)
• VFS Global Service Charge: Approximately INR 2,220 (inclusive of applicable taxes)

Visa fees and service charges are subject to revision by the Embassy and VFS Global.
