Netherlands Tourist Visa for Indian Citizens
Planning a trip to the Netherlands? Indian passport holders are required to obtain a Schengen Short-Stay (Type C) Visa before travelling to the Netherlands for tourism. A valid Schengen visa allows you to stay in the Netherlands and other Schengen countries for up to 90 days within any 180-day period.

Visa Documents Checklist
Applicants should generally prepare the following documents:
- Original passport valid for at least 3 months beyond the intended departure from the Schengen Area and issued within the last 10 years
- Completed and signed Schengen visa application form
- Two recent passport-size photographs as per Schengen specifications
- Cover letter explaining the purpose of travel
- Confirmed round-trip flight reservation
- Hotel reservation or proof of accommodation
- Detailed day-wise travel itinerary
- Travel medical insurance with a minimum coverage of EUR 30,000, valid throughout the Schengen Area
- Proof of sufficient financial means (latest 3–6 months' bank statements)
- Income Tax Returns (ITR), if applicable
- Employment proof (leave approval letter, salary slips, employment certificate) or business registration documents
- Proof of civil status, if applicable
- Any additional documents requested by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands
Processing Time
- Standard Processing Time: Approximately 15 calendar days
- Processing may take up to 45 calendar days if additional verification is required.
- Applicants are advised to apply at least 3–4 weeks before their intended travel date.
Visa & VFS Fee
- Schengen Visa Fee (Adults): EUR 90
- Children (6–11 years): EUR 45
- Children below 6 years: Free
- VFS Global Service Charge: Applicable in addition to the visa fee.
- Optional services such as courier, SMS updates, and premium lounge are available at an additional cost.
Travel Advice
- Apply well in advance of your intended travel date.
- Ensure your passport has sufficient validity and at least two blank pages.
- Carry printed copies of your passport, visa, travel insurance, hotel bookings, return flight tickets, and proof of sufficient funds.
- Travel medical insurance is mandatory for the entire Schengen stay.
- Immigration authorities may request additional supporting documents upon arrival.
