Nigeria Tourist Visa for Indian Citizens
Planning a trip to Nigeria? Visa Documents Checklist
Applicants should generally prepare the following documents:
- Original passport valid for at least 6 months from the intended date of arrival with at least two blank pages
- Completed online visa application form
- Recent passport-size colour photograph
- Scanned copy of the passport bio-data page
- Cover letter stating the purpose of travel
- Confirmed round-trip flight reservation
- Hotel reservation or invitation letter from the host in Nigeria
- Detailed day-wise travel itinerary
- Proof of sufficient financial means (latest 3–6 months' bank statements)
- Employment proof (employment letter, leave approval, salary slips) or business registration documents
- Income Tax Returns (ITR), if applicable
- Travel medical insurance (recommended)
- Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificate (mandatory) for entry into Nigeria
- Any additional documents requested by the Nigeria Immigration Service or the Embassy
Processing Time
- e-Visa: Approximately 2–7 working days
- Sticker Visa: Approximately 5–15 working days, depending on document verification and Embassy processing.
- Applicants are advised to apply at least 3–4 weeks before their intended travel date.
Visa & VFS Fee
- Visa Fee: Depends on the visa category and nationality as prescribed by the Nigeria Immigration Service.
- VFS Fee: Applicable if applications are submitted through an authorized Visa Application Centre.
- Additional service charges may apply for biometric enrolment, courier, or premium services.
