Norway Tourist Visa for Indian Citizens

Visa Documents Checklist
Applicants should generally prepare the following documents:
- Original passport valid for at least 3 months beyond the intended departure from the Schengen Area and issued within the last 10 years
- Completed and signed Schengen visa application form
- Two recent passport-size photographs as per Schengen specifications
- Cover letter explaining the purpose of travel
- Confirmed round-trip flight reservation
- Hotel reservation or invitation letter from the host in Norway
- Detailed day-wise travel itinerary
- Proof of sufficient financial means (latest 6 months' bank statements)
- Income Tax Returns (ITR) for the last 2–3 years
- Employment proof (employment letter, leave approval, salary slips) or business registration documents
- Travel medical insurance with a minimum coverage of EUR 30,000, valid throughout the Schengen Area
- Proof of civil status, if applicable
- Any additional documents requested by the Royal Norwegian Embassy or VFS Global
Processing Time
- Standard Processing Time: Approximately 15 calendar days after submission.
- Processing may take up to 30–45 calendar days in cases requiring additional verification.
- Applicants can apply up to 6 months before the intended travel date and should ideally apply at least 3–4 weeks before departure.
Visa & VFS Fee
- Schengen Visa Fee (Adults): EUR 90
- Children (6–11 years): EUR 45
- Children below 6 years: No visa fee
- VFS Global Service Fee: Applicable in addition to the visa fee.
- Optional services such as courier, SMS alerts, premium lounge, and document printing are available at additional charges.
- Visa fees are subject to revision by the European Union and VFS Global.
Travel Advice
- Ensure your passport has sufficient validity and at least two blank visa pages.
- Purchase travel medical insurance before submitting your application.
- Carry printed copies of your passport, visa, hotel bookings, return flight tickets, travel insurance, and proof of sufficient funds during your journey.
- If Norway is your main destination or your first point of entry into the Schengen Area, apply through the Norwegian authorities.
- Immigration authorities at the port of entry have the final authority regarding admission and may request additional supporting documents.
