Puerto Rico Tourist Visa Documents Checklist

Applicants generally require:

• Original passport valid for at least 6 months beyond the intended stay (unless exempt under U.S. passport validity agreements)
• Previous passports (if applicable)
• Completed DS-160 online non-immigrant visa application
• DS-160 confirmation page with barcode
• Visa appointment confirmation letter
• Recent passport-size photograph meeting U.S. visa specifications
• Cover letter explaining the purpose of travel
• Tentative travel itinerary
• Hotel reservations or accommodation details
• Proof of sufficient financial means (bank statements for the last 6 months)
• Income Tax Returns (ITR), if applicable
• Salary slips for the last 3 months (for employed applicants)
• Employment letter/NOC from employer
• Business registration documents (for self-employed applicants)
• Invitation letter (if visiting family or friends)
• Any additional documents supporting strong ties to India

Note: The U.S. Embassy may request additional documents during or after the visa interview.

Processing Time

• DS-160: Submitted online before booking an appointment.
• Visa appointment availability: Depends on the U.S. Embassy/Consulate.
• Visa decision: Usually made after the interview; passport with visa is generally returned within a few working days if approved.
• Applicants are advised to apply well in advance due to varying interview wait times.
